Why we started

A bull doesn't question its strength. It moves forward, head down, eyes on the target. But raw power with no direction is just chaos. That's the spot too many good businesses end up in: strong, busy, profitable on paper, and still guessing when it counts.

We kept meeting owners in exactly that position. Full calendars, delivering teams, and a nagging feeling that the numbers weren't telling them the whole story. Their bookkeeper sent figures. Their accountant sent reports. Nobody sat down and said, “Here's what this means, and here's what to do next.”


So we built the firm we wished those owners had.



That firm is Bull, and Joy Ndegwa built it. Joy is a CPA who has spent more than 15 years inside the finances of growing organizations, including a stretch as CFO of a private school where she managed budgets north of $23 million across operating funds, capital campaigns, and an endowment. She kept running into the same gap: capable owners with plenty of financial data and nobody to tell them what it meant. She started Bull to be that person, the advisor who sits down, reads the numbers back in plain English, and points to the next move.

Joy Ndegwa, CPA

Joy has spent more than 15 years in finance, accounting, and business operations, and she leads every Bull engagement herself. Before founding the firm, she was CFO of a private school, where she oversaw more than $23 million in budgets, supervised finance teams, handled HR and compliance, and presented to boards. Along the way she built the systems that cut errors and made the numbers easier to trust.


She has advised service businesses, mission-driven organizations, and entrepreneurs across a range of industries. What clients remember is her knack for making the complicated feel simple and steadying things when a business is in flux. She holds a bachelor’s degree in International Business Administration with an accounting concentration, an MBA in finance, and an active CPA license.



Outside of work, Joy is a single mother of three. She brings the same focus and warmth to her clients that she brings to her family, and when she isn’t untangling someone’s finances, she’s usually with her kids, dancing in the kitchen.
